Thorium Brotherhood Reputation Guide

“How to Guide” how to get your Thorium Brotherhood reputation all the way up to exalted.

This video guide is very detailed.

On a side note, while taking my new blacksmithing toon around for the Thorium Brotherhood reputation (to buy old designs of course) I came across this quest obviously added post cataclysm.

The Day That Deathwing Came, ok it’s a little different from the average quest and maybe even a little confusing at times, but totally entertaining!

Insane in the Membrane, Not Yet!

Steamwheedle Cartel I haven’t worked on this since late February so it was much over due! I went out to Tanaris where I found one lonely Paladin farming rep – unlike my last trip where there many farmers at once. I quickly group with this one fellow and we proceed to spend the next hour and a half farming pirates.

For only two of us I think we did quite well. I know I did because I was also looting! I left with nearly three dozen stacks of mageweave cloth and many many greens and a few blues. Steamwheedle CartelIf your a gold goblin at heart then you know that cloth is worth a nice bit of gold!

I also got exalted with Gadgetzan yah!! I did have to make a detour for those last 1000 points though. Off the coast of Northern Barrens across from Rachet lies an Isle called Fray Island with a few buildings and a few NPCs which give 2 points per kill. I personally found it worth going inside the larger building and popping Cap’n Garvey each time he spawned for a clean 14 points per kill. All of these NPCs spawn super quick so the time flew by very fast.

Surprise Attack!

WooOOooT!! Exalted with the Shado-Pan!

Shado Pan

What an exciting ending to a long and some-what painful grind — this last quest was a real battle but rewarded the Reins of the Onyx Cloud Serpent.

Surprise Attack

Ban Bearheart says: Today, we welcome you into the Shado-Pan.
Ban Bearheart says: Your perseverance strengthens us. Your courage leads us. Your honor inspires us.
Ban Bearheart says: From this day forth, you walk as one of our brotherhood.
Yalia Songwhisper says: We knew you could do it!
Ban Bearheart says: Welcome Vervaine, as a member of the Shado-Pan!
Lao-Chin the Iron Belly says: Good job. Guess you learned a little something from me.
Taoshi says: Let’s go for a drink!
Fei Li says: Drinks!

Surprise Attack

Breath of Darkest Shadow

And finally after many weeks of dailies and the long quest chain I’ve come to the end of my Operation: Shieldwall grind.

In Search of Harmony

In Search of Harmony

You then help Anduin put the Mallet together:

The Head
Rebuilding the Mallet

Breath of Darkest Shadow

  • The Bell Speaks: Anduin has run off in search of Garrosh about to harness the power of the Divine Bell–you must find him.
  • Breath of Darkest Shadow: Anduin tries to plea with Garrosh before using the Harmonic Mallet and destroying the Divine Bell.
  • The Silence: The mallet is destroyed, but Anduin is severely wounded from the effort.

Garrosh is right over there, and he’s going to ring that bell at any moment. We don’t have time to wait for my father’s army. This is our only chance to stop him! I’ll attempt to appeal to his senses before resorting to using the Harmonic Mallet. Charge in whenever you’re ready, Vervaine. I’ll be right behind you.

The Bell Speaks

We are the HORDE. We are slaves to nothing and no one! With the Divine Bell, I will burn away any remnants of weakness within us. Fear… despair… hatred… doubt. The lesser races are buried beneath their weight. But WE will control their power. Together, we will destroy the Alliance and claim what is rightfully ours. Let our song of victory begin. Our victory is all but assured. With the power of the bell on our side, we will be unstoppable.

Breath of Darkest Shadow

Die, whelp! Garrosh strikes Anduin, who is thrown back and under the bell as it collapses atop him.

The Silence

Your Alliance must be at its end if you’re sending your children against me. I will let you live so that you can tell your King of the price for his continued defiance!

Admiral Taylor: I hesitate to guess what would have happened if you had not been there with the young Prince. Today, you put an end to Garrosh’s plans. You have undoubtedly saved thousands of lives, and most importantly, you brought Anduin back to us. We are doing everything we can for the boy, but we can only wait and see. I believe he has the fight in him. I must believe it…

Breath of Darkest Shadow2

[As you gaze upon Anduin’s lifeless body, you hear the sound of an incoming teleport. Two figures rush into the room.]

King Varian Wrynn:
Garrosh attacked my son…? Where is he?

Lady Jaina Proudmoore:

[Jaina kneels before the body. Varian remains standing.]

King Varian Wrynn:
Anduin, what were you thinking? I should’ve sent you back to Stormwind!

Lady Jaina Proudmoore:
He’s alive, but his bones are shattered.

King Varian Wrynn: [Desperation and rage fill his voice]
Send for Velen. Bring him here at once!

[Jaina stands to address the King. She draws her staff.]

Lady Jaina Proudmoore: [Barely containing her anger]
My King, I promise you. The Kirin-Tor will come down on Garrosh so hard his ancestors will reel. Blood will pay for blood!

[In a flash, Jaina teleports to Dalaran.]

King Varian Wrynn:
Jaina –

[You sense the King is wary of the consequences of Jaina’s coming actions, but he will not leave his son’s side.]

[He kneels before him.]

King Varian Wrynn:
I will end Garrosh for this. His Horde already crumbles beneath him. We will deliver the final blow.

[He looks up at you.]

Champion, you and Anduin thwarted the Warchief today and won the Alliance a critical victory.

[He lowers his head.]

But please, leave me now. I must tend to my son… and prepare for our next battle.

Operation Shieldwall Campaign

WooOOooT!! Got rewarded the Grand Gryphon on this last quest and of course I had to rush out and buy myself a Grand Armored Gryphon.

Grand Armored Gryphon

An Ancient Ally

Exalted .. and still two more parts to this quest chain to go.

Prince Anduin has somehow slipped his guards again. His control over the light is greatly increasing. He was last seen heading to Kun-Lai Summit. He gave our mages the slip around the Valley of Emperors.

An Ancient Ally

Where am I with the on-going Operation Sheildwall quest chain:

An Ancient Ally

On the side, the Alliance has been befriending some of the Hozen, in the hopes of finding another artifact to counteract the Divine Bell:

So, you wake up the Monkey King for a mallet hmmm? Answer first, these riddles three, and then the mallet you shall see.

First riddle! “Softly singing a song of pain There is a creature tortured and lame. Way down south and beyond the wall, It hides from its wikket masters’ call. Seek out the creature sad and somber, And free it from its untamed amber.” Bring me the untamed amber.

The Second Riddle

You want to stop the Divine Bell? We need the mallet first. You want the mallet? We need to be friends first. You want to be friends? We need a Metal brew first. You want a Metal brew? You need to go to the Shrine of Fellowship first.  You want to go to the Shrine of Fellowship? Great! It’s in the Jade Forest southeast of the Tian Monastery. Ring the bell and get the Monkey King some brew while there. Oh… you may have to fight for it.

The mallet you seek is not a toy for children, It calls trouble like the song of a siren. A test of strength the Monkey King will require, Before you receive this tool of your desire. At the Temple of the White Tiger you will find A challenger to test how well you are resigned Step through the main door and then turn right down the ramp Challenge the ook waiting for you there like a champ!

The Greatest Prank

So riddles three you answered me. Good good. The Monkey King is not so old that he tells just anyone his tricks. It was the greatest prank ever! You want to hear story of the Mallet and the Monkey? Too bad! No choice!

There once was a jibby nib mallet all shiny and divine.
But the ookin’ bell it was meant for could never be mine.

The mogu had stolen the bell, what is a hozen to do?
Think of the horror if those dookers stole the mallet too.

Mogu are not bright, they fail to see things for what they are.
The Monkey King broke the mallet and sent the pieces afar.

My Hozen took the pieces and scattered them across the lands,
Disguised as “nifty nibs”, never to fall into mogu hands.

The head, the handle, these two must be made as one.
Combined with evil’s ointment, the bell’s evil can be undone.

If “Garrosh” has the bell than/then there is only one thing to do,
I’ll send for my hozen friends, the mallet must be made anew.

The Purge of Dalaran

Just yesterday my head was swimming with questions; Did Jaina really kick the horde from the Kirin-tor? What does this mean for Dalaran? Will we maybe see a phased version much like the current 2 phases of Theramore?

Where am I with the on-going Operation Sheildwall quest chain:

The Purge of Dalaran

The Sunreavers aided the Horde in retrieving the Divine Bell, which was stored in Darnassus, so the Alliance are expelling the Sunreavers from Dalaran.

  • Sewer Cleaning: Kill 16 Sunreavers hiding in the Dalaran Sewers.
  • Unfair Trade: Kill the hidden Sunreavers in Dalaran’s shops.
  • Nowhere to Hide: The Sunreavers who did not accept Jaina’s agreement are now being tracked down and killed.
  • Cashing Out: Prevent a Sunreaver Magistrate from withdrawing gold before escaping.
  • Nowhere to Run: Subdue the Sunreaver Dragonhawks to prevent the elves from escaping.
  • What Had To Be Done: Speak to King Varian Wyrnn.

As you know, our night elven allies moved the Divine Bell you retrieved to Darnassus for safekeeping and study. Moments ago, they portaled some Highbourne mages over here to ask for backup. Details are hazy – some sort of stealth attack on the city? I don’t know what to make of it, but Jaina Proudmoore is already on the scene and I suspect they need all the help they can get. Speak to Seamus Goldenkicks over there for a quick portal to Darnassus. Find Jaina!

Darnassus Attacked
Darnassus Attacked
Darnassus Attacked

The Purge of Dalaran

The Sunreaver’s Sanctuary is still crawling with those Horde-loving Sunreavers. Jaina will have sent the reasonable ones to the Violet Hold. The rest refuse to leave, raising their weapons against us. Show them the cost of their defiance. They now face the judgment of the Alliance, the Silver Covenant, and the Kirin Tor!

Do these Sunreavers look scared? Honestly they appear to be having a lively discussion around a fully laden table of food. I’m sure by this point they must be rehashing who to blame for there hand hand in helping Garrosh steal the Divine Bell?

Nowhere To Hide

Compliant Sunreavers will be sent to the Violet Hold. Defiant ones are put to the sword. NONE are to escape. The Sunreavers keep their dragonhawk mounts on Krasus’ Landing. Take this dust, and use it to render them incapable of flying. Or kill them. I don’t care.

Is it just me being freaky or does watching these dragonhawks circling around look similar to watching a fish tank full of guppies?

I just saw one of the Sunreavers – Brasael, I think his name was – running off in the direction of the bank to the north. No doubt he’s trying to gather whatever assets he can before he leaves. Head him off and make sure he doesn’t steal any resources from our coffers. He relinquished whatever funds he left in the bank when he and his Sunreaver kind betrayed us.

It’s like an ATM, he drops loot-able piles of gold on the ground after you kill him and he respawns quick to do it again!

Cashing Out
The Purge of Dalaran

King Varian Wrynn says: Jaina! What’s happening in Dalaran? Has there been an attack? Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: The Kirin Tor was betrayed from within. I’ve handled the situation. King Varian Wrynn says: How? Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: I’ve purged the Horde from Dalaran. You have what you wanted, Your Majesty: The Kirin Tor belongs to the Alliance. King Varian Wrynn says: But you said-

Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: I know what I said. My trust was misplaced. King Varian Wrynn says: What of the Sin’dorei – the Sunreavers? Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Those that surrendered are being taken to the Violet Hold. I make no guarantees about those who chose to fight. King Varian Wrynn says: Jaina, you need to talk to me before you act-

Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: How I run the Kirin Tor is my business. King Varian Wrynn says: I was trying to negotiate with the Sin’dorei. I was opening discussions to bring them into the Alliance! By attacking their people, you’ve forced their hand-

Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: They chose their own path. King Varian Wrynn says: You’ve driven them back to the Horde. Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: You’re fooling yourself. Once Horde, always Horde. I see that now. I’m mobilizing the Kirin Tor. King Varian Wrynn says: Jaina. We’ve got to work together on this. The Alliance must act as one. Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Don’t get soft on me, Varian.

The Purge of Dalaran

While the quest chain is intriguing ultimately I have to agree with the following comment; It’s not fun when you, as a soldier of the Alliance, commit acts that you believe are solely in the repertoire of the Horde.

Once again I had mail waiting:
