Transmog Thursday: Mage Sets

Let’s dress up (or down) those MAGES!!

Jessiehealz presents 10 Sexy Female Mage Transmog Sets #2 (World of Warcraft)

This is a World of Warcraft showcase displaying 10 cute female Mage transmogrification gear sets. I must say they are all eye catching but I think I’d probably go for #6 myself.

Jessiehealz presents 10 Badass Male Mage Transmog Sets #1 (World of Warcraft)

This is a World of Warcraft guide on how to locate & obtain 10 cool male Mage gear sets for transmogrification on your characters. Now I must say #2 is really quite unfair to show since it was only available during Mist of Pandaria. However there is another color of this set available in Legion as the mage classhall set. My favorites would have to be #7 or #8 because I just can’t choose one!

HeyImJustin presents 5 Epic And Easy Mage Transmogs To Get For Legion!

Now I’m not sure how EASY these five sets are to collect but they are certainly some nice mage sets.

Trackline presents 10 Frost Mage Xmog Set Ideas Part 2

Another showcase displaying 10 cute Mage transmogrification gear sets with set details all written out for you.

Comment below and share with your favorite mage set. And remember I’m still looking for current url’s for xmog blogs & websites to update my list.

Tome of Polymorph: White Polar Bear, Monkey, and Porcupine

New Polymorphs for Mages

You might already know there are several new items available for nearly every class but of 7.0.3 Mages can now add a monkey AND a white polar bear to their available Polymorphs!

Tome of Polymorph: Monkey is dropping from Hozen mobs in The Jade Forest.

Tome of Polymorph: Monkey

Tome of Polymorph: Polar Bear Cub from Arctic Grizzly in Dragonblight.

Tome of Polymorph: Polar Bear Cub

Tome of Polymorph: Porcupine from Pandaren porcupines.  I suggest the Needleback Porcupines here in the Dread Waste.

Tome of Polymorph: Porcupine

This is a replacement to the removed glyph Charred Glyph that used to modify your polymorph to the porcupine prior to 6.0.2.

Legendary Cape Xing-Ho, Breath of Yu’lon

WoOOoT! One down and at least one more to go because honestly I’m not sure how many more times I want to do these super long grinds! And honestly I still am finding myself doing things for the Black Prince even after finally receiving Xing-Ho, Breath of Yu’lon. For example now he’s tasked me killing Garrosh in Siege of Orgimmar — does it never end?

Chapter IV

Although everyone I know whose managed to finish this grind swears by these legendary capes to the point most of them are actually working their alts through the quest chain. I chose the spell damage cloak:

Essence of Yu’lon: Your damaging spell casts have a chance to empower you with the Essence of Yu’lon, causing you to hurl jade dragonflame at the target, dealing 1 (+ 200% of Spell power) damage over 4 sec. This damage also affects up to 4 other enemies near the burning target. (Approximately [2.61 + Haste] procs per minute)

Whoa! I Think I Found It!

Another secret quest, after finishing making friends with all The Tillers a few weeks ago, today I decided to run down by Cattail Lake and investigate this rumor that the Enormous Cattail Grouper may be in possession of something quite valuable.

Sure enough after a quick kill I find myself with a treasure map in my bags!!

Quickly I pull myself to shore and carried my findings over to Fish Fellreed. Little did I know but there was a tale to be told about this Treasure Map …

Of course Fish totally had me at “treasure” but hey I listened to the whole story, twice actually not wanting to miss any clues. I was totally enthralled with Old Man Thistles tale .. so when Fish’s story came to an end and she followed up with the quest [Just a Folk Story] I couldn’t help but be a small bit disappointed thinking “Is that it?”. Being a long time treasure hunter I just couldn’t fathom that this hunt would end almost as quickly as it had begun. Little did I know Fish was sending me out on a fact finding mission:

What!?! This don’t make any sense! <Fish’s face falls.>
What’s this mumber jumber about a maiden and an ancestor and a buncha stairs?
I can’t make any reason outta this, can you?
Well, there are lotsa folks ’round here who’re much older than you and me, .
Can you go talk to the folks in Halfhill? I betcha they might know somethin’!

Mama Min says: The maiden, eh? Hmm, I remember that’s what my father used to call that river to the north. Other than that, I wouldn’t have the slightest clue.

Old Man Whitewhiskers says: What echoes and what’s dark? It’s simple! A cave!

Stonecarver Mac says: Oh, I HAVE heard of the ancestors’ stair. That’s what some folks call those mountains to the north.

Grainsortor Pei says: Hmmm, I reckon I don’t know, night elf. All I can understand is the part about the valley – that’s right here! The Valley of the Four Winds!

Taking the information I could gather and trying my best to keep my growing excitement in check,  I quickly flew back to report my findings to Fish.

Well I’ll be a monkey’s uncle (not really) but seriously how did no one notice this cave-in here before …

It took us a few minutes but we managed to slip through an opening.

Oh my, Old Man Thistle did not mention this … watch out!!

With quick thinking and deft maneuvers we we’re able to subdue this monstrosity fairy easily, truth be told the path leading in was more treacherous to one’s health than our victory over this unnamed creature.

By this point we we’re dusty, tired, and thirsty so with the hunt over and the treasure in hand it was time to celebrate [Plum Wine] only wait, what is this? A note …

The journey has been a long one taking us around to several points of The Valley of Four Winds. Having found the treasure Fish Fellreed takes her leave returning to her dock at Cattail Lake. Before calling it a night myself, I started wondering about note found in the bottom of the chest along with Old Man Thistle’s treasure [Old Man Thistles Almanac]. Was it just an ordinary farmer’s date book or is it possible I’m missing something important here? Not able to put the note out of my mind, I go one more time in search of someone who may have the answers.

Old Man Thistle's Almanac

Seedkeeper Shing Sing, found behind the house, in a cave at 54.47 kindly shares with me the real ending of Old Man Thistles life story. A bit saddened after learning the true end of this tale I was happily surprised with an unexpected achievement [Ain’t Lost No More]. I love unexpected and/or secret quest, if you know of any others please do share.

QQ & Darkmoon Faire

My new Mage is on the cusp of hitting level 85 (tonight I’m hoping) and so I was thinking about what tier gear to farm for transmogrification. I would love to maybe get her tier 3 or even tier 6 but then I haven’t even finished getting my mains whole set yet.

I took Vervaine out to the faire, and WOW all the new games and attractions are Kool! Right from the start the path is dark and spooky and winding … awesome! She quickly racked up several achievements and is working on getting the 250 EARS for the Strong Lady haha. I did notice that I had to leave the fair in order to go buy flour & tailoring supplies but it was worth the short trip {portals since shes a mage} because she was rewarded with 5 profession for each quest. The canon .. OMG what a PITA!! I finally got close enough to the target to get the easy achievement but never did get the “BullsEye”.

I also want to THANK Noun, Gimm, Jov, & Talek for allowing me to tag along to the new dungeon “End Time” with them. My latency issues has made it impossible to do heroics most of the time so frankly I rarely even try. Occasionally if a guild group doesn’t mind my lag and crap dps numbers then I go along. But I ALWAYS end up upset just because I’m so limited I don’t feel I’m able to do enough to earn my seat. For instance in the first dungeon, I lagged so badly I got lost between the third set of green crystals and the boss – stupid since it’s only a few feet. But I couldn’t tell my guildies {LAG} so they had no idea and they started the fight — they kicked ass and completely 4 manned it. We did finish the instance. I got “Boots of the Forked Road” and “Archivist’s Gloves” {yuk cloth, don’t know if I should use this or not but it’s not like Ive never used cloth on my moonkin before} as quest rewards but no drops. I did end up with three maelstrom crystals hopefully Vervaine will be able to use them to help level enchanting at some point. We also entered “Well of Eternity” but again I had issues, worse than the first time sorta. We made it to the queen but three tries was enough so didn’t get past her. I don’t know if I’ll even try to go again for awhile. I was upset at myself and logged off after {forgetting I’d signed up for ICC} I tend to be bitter about my internet after going on runs like this to the point of depression. Stupid yes … but true. I must say there are some really neat mechanics going on in these new dungeons so I had to really pay attention!! Nothing {I don’t think} that I can’t eventually do but definitely I will need to try again when I can, to get the fights down.
